The majority of the flavour of Freggie Bars does indeed come from the flavours naturally contained in the fruit and vegetable extracts, however we do enhance the flavour in order to make it more characteristic of the variety of bar through the addition of small quantities of nature identical flavours.
Freggie Nutri-bars are relatively low in fat. They contain 60-50% less total fat than normal muesli bars and 50-60% less saturated than normal muesli bars.
No, Freggie Bars do not contain any nut ingredients, however they are produced on a manufacturing line that is also used to produce other bars that do contain peanuts and other nuts. Despite all the precautions that are taken during manufacture to prevent cross contamination of Freggie from other products (ie the line is thoroughly washed after nut containing bars are produced) we cannot guarantee that there is not a minute trace of nut residue somewhere in the production line that may contaminate a Freggie Bar. That is why we include the warning on all Freggie Bar wrappers, “MADE ON THE SAME EQUIPMENT AS PRODUCTS CONTAINING PEANUTS AND OTHER NUTS” for those consumers that are allergic to nuts.
Yes. In fact the fruits and vegetables that are used in the production of Nutrifood (the fruit and vegetable extracts used in Freggie Bars) are harvested at their peak ripeness and processed within 24hrs of harvesting. Fresh fruits and vegetables bought in grocery stores are, more often than not, harvested unripe because of the need to transport and store them for some days. This means that they do not achieve their peak phytonutrient content before they are consumed. Also, the gentle extraction process used to produce Nutrifood releases the phyonutrients from the cells that make up the flesh of the fruits and vegetables and therefore makes them more readily available for digestion by the consumer. For example, it is well known that lycopene, an antioxidant found in tomatoes is more readily available in processed tomato soup, sauces and ketchup than in fresh tomatoes.

Yes, Freggie Bars were developed with kids’ nutrition in mind. Many kids don’t eat sufficient fruits and vegetables in a day (5 serves is recommended and a serve is approximately 80g of fresh fruits or vegetables) and they like to eat snacks. Most kids also don’t like to eat wholegrain cereals. This is why we developed a healthy snack bar alternative (Freggie Bars) so that when by kids feel like a snack, it not only satisfies their need for an indulgent snack it also provides them with both the goodness of whole grains and fresh fruits and vegetables (‘fr-’ from fruits and ‘-eggie’ from veggie = ‘Freggie”) in a convenient, on the go, snack.
